Catena modular lighting by Form Us With Love for Blond

Dezeen Showroom: Swedish design studio Form Us With Love and lighting brand Blond have collaborated to produce a new modular system that provides a creative alternative to strip lighting.

Blond describes Catena as breaking away from "rigid, uninspiring solutions" with a solution that allows for interesting customisation and infinite variation.

The system comprises simple glass tube lights connected by aluminium bases and frames, and optionally encased by cylindrical aluminium mesh shades.

The elements can be combined to create a sculptural effect, with the colour palette of raw aluminium, black, red or white adding to the modern, graphic feel.

Featured in Form Us With Love's Testing Ground installation at Stockholm Design Week, the Catena light is aimed primarily at architects and is intended to give ultimate creative freedom.

The lighting can be either hung from the ceiling, mounted on the wall or displayed on the floor, where it can be readily moved around to shape a space.
