Architect Carlo Ratti, designer Sofia Lagerkvist and interior designers Matthew Williamson and Sarah Sham have joined the judging panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.

Dezeen Awards in partnership with Bentley, champions the best architects and designers from around the world, recognising those individuals and studios producing the most outstanding work across architecture, interiors, design and sustainability.

There are just two weeks left to save 20 per cent on entry fees. Submit your projects by 23:59 London time on 26 March and have your work seen by our star-studded judging panel.

Italian engineer and architect Carlo Ratti
Italian architect Carlo Ratti was recently announced as the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025 curator

Venice Architecture Biennale 2025 curator, Ratti will sit on this year's architecture panel alongside architect Carol Ross Barney.

Italian architect and engineer Ratti leads his eponymous studio Carlo Ratti Associati. Recent examples of the studio's work include a grass-topped restaurant for tomato company Mutti in Italy and a modular installation made from waste rice husks exhibited during Milan Design Week.

Ratti has been exhibited at institutions from MoMA in New York to the Science Museum in London.

Sofia Lagerkvist is the co-founder of Front, an experimental design studio
Sofia Lagerkvist is the co-founder of Swedish design studio Front

Swedish designer Lagerkvist, who co-founded studio Front alongside Anna Lindgren, will join Benjamin Hubert as a design judge.

The experimental practice specialises in new technologies working with companies including Italian brand Moroso on a series of furniture designed to mimic mossy rocks, Swiss furniture brand Vitra for its Resting Animals series and Dutch brand Moooi for a collection of lamps, tables and carpets.

Recently, the studio unveiled three 3D-printed vases at Stockholm Design Week that were made using artificial intelligence.

Front's work has been exhibited in institutions including the V&A, MoMA, Vitra Design Museum, Centre Pompidou, The Design Museum, Denver Art Museum, High Museum of Art and M+.

Interior designer Matthew Williamson
Matthew Williamson works across fashion, interiors and design

British interior designer Williamson will join the interiors panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.

After 20 years of experience in fashion, Williamson pivoted to commercial and residential interiors drawing on his passion for pattern and colour. Notable interiors include Nama Bar and Belmond La Residencia in Deià, Mallorca.

Williamson has also designed a homeware collection for retailer John Lewis, a wallpaper and fabric collection for manufacturer Osborne & Little, and a series of lampshades for lights shop Pooky.

In 2023, the designer launched his first book Living Bright, a guide to using colour within the home.

Interior designer Sarah Sham runs Mumbai-based studio Essajees Atelier

Interior designer Sham runs Mumbai-based studio Essajees Atelier and will join Tatjana von Stein on this year's interiors judging panel.

Taking influence from her family's 130-year-old antique and furniture showroom, Sham founded her practice in 2014. It has since completed over 100 residential and commercial interior projects.

The designer has been named in leading publications including Forbes India's 30 under 45 list and Luxebook India's top 50 women in luxury.
